If you really love your truck, you probably want to make it your own. There are many ways to customize it to your lifestyle and needs. It’s easy to start making changes a little at a time.

Air Filter

Air filters protect your engine from debris in the air before it can get sucked in. If your air filter gets too clogged it can deprive your engine of air which can lower performance. This can be especially problematic if you often drive on back roads, off-road or in dirty environments, so you might want to consider an upgrade. A donaldson air filter can stand up to the harshest conditions and has the capacity to handle heavy duty engines. No matter what you are driving or what environment you are in, there is a size and shape for you.

Depending on what you use your vehicle for, you may want bigger or all-terrain tires than what came from the dealership. There are various treads and patterns that can give you better traction in mileage in certain situations. If you’re trying to go big, you may even need to lift your vehicle a few inches. You can do this with either a body lift or a suspension lift. This should not change how your vehicle handles or rides.

Especially if you are off-roading or taking your truck to the back country, you may be interested in more comprehensive lighting. There are many ways you can go about this: bumper-mounted spotlights, grille-mounted lights, remote controlled LED spotlights or roof-mounted light bars. Roof-mounted lights are best if you need to see far while driving at higher speeds. The others are best for driving rough terrain or rock crawling at low speeds. You can even give yourself a combination of these options if you’d like it all.

Sound System

Unless your particular truck already includes good audio, which is rare, your speakers are probably terrible. One cheap and easy way to improve your sound is to simply replace these, for as low as $30. If you have an older truck, it is also easy to switch out the in-dash radio, and be sure to look for replacements that include blue-tooth and various inputs. If you have a hard time hearing your music because your truck is loud, you can also add some sound deadening mats to create a quiet in-cab environment for your tunes.

You don’t have to settle for your truck as-is. Vehicles are an important part of daily life, why not make it as useful and comfortable as possible? It’s not that hard!
